Design Your Own Sock-Yarn ShawlReady to learn how to design your own shawl? Jen Lucas, author of the best-selling book, Sock-Yarn Shawls, will go through all the steps of designing your own sock-yarn shawl from start to finish. Class will cover everything you need to know to create your design from the garter tab cast-on, inserting in the desired lace patterns you want to use, all the way to the bind off.

Technique Requirements

Knit/purl; cast on/bind off; increase/decrease; Must be able to read and follow a pattern and be comfortable with knitting from a chart.

Supplies to Bring
  • 100 yards (375+ yards, if you want to continue knitting an entire shawl at home after class) of a
smooth, solid, light-colored fingering weight/sock yarn
  • Different sized knitting needles for swatching (Needle sizes US 3, US 4, and US 5 are best; circular needles 24” or longer recommended)
